Screen Printing

Today we were screen printing with the paper cut outs we made last lesson. Here is a step by step on how we did it will instructive photographs.

This is my end result. I think this is a good example of screen printing because it has clearly printed the word I wanted to print. If I could make this better I could decrease the thickness of the ink mix I was using because the ink wasn't coming through the screen because it was so thick and some of the little hole in the screen were blocked so the ink couldn't come through. Although a mistake, I believe this is a exciting effect because it looks different and unique which will make it stand out.

Firstly, since I had no pink ink, I made it buy mixing red and white ink to create this. In order to make the ink thinner I used textile medium to water it down. I used around 40% ink and 60% textile medium. This is the end creation.

Side note; Always put down newspaper to protect your surface because this technique can somes get messy.

I then made sure the paper was secured to the screen as
